SECTION 2                    DID YOU KNOW?

The late great actor Clark Gable joined the Army as a Captain he insisted on being a tail gunner on a bomber so as he put it, "So I can shot those Nazi bastards down"!   God bless you Clark Gable!

As a veteran I look back at my youth when I served in the U.S. Air Force it was a harrowing time, we thought that the Russians would destroy the world, Kruschev was ranting at the  U. N.  AKA "the United Nothings", pounding his shoe on the podium and declaring all sort of insults at America and we were on the verge of war,  fast forward to the 21st century, today we are surrounded as always with more evil than good as the bible has actually come into play more importantly than at any time in the history of our great nation.

More than ever we are fighting an evil force that is of course the so called Islamofascists, there are hundreds of prisoners at Guantanamo in Cuba that are starting to go on trial.  For me their punishment should be hanging!  This will drive lefties nuts, see what they are doing in California!

There is a ballot being placed on the California November election to do away with the death penalty being pushed by the loony left liberals, telling people how we can save 180 million dollars a year, these same people cannot balance the budget and they are going to save us money, they are the tax and spend morons of the left, Ecclesiastes in the bible for you lefties says and I quote:   The heart of the wise leans to the right and the heart of a fool leans to the left!   Sure sounds like god has your number lefty!!

So the fact remains that the death penalty is what the people of California voted for and you can be sure that Jerry "moonbeam" Brown is supporting getting rid of the death penalty.

Last night at the American Legion hall I heard a story that made me very sad, first a couple of returning soldiers from Afghanistan were there to enjoy the dinner with us then I heard the tragic news about JP a Marine corporal who was killed disarming a bomb, no it did not blow up on him some bastard terrorist murdered him, that's right murder so if any of you degenerate Islamofacists are reading this when you are in Hell enjoy your selves you slime!

JP was just 25 and leaves behind a loving wife and 2 children he was scheduled to return on Good Friday, so I hope you will join me in prayer for this Patriot Marine JP!

Please pass this on to a Veteran or someone who is a Patriot, thank you.

SECTION 3                TODAY'S TRUE STORY

The Japanese were three weeks away from dropping the deadliest weapon of the war on America, they had developed long range bombers with plans they had received from the Germans.  These planes could fly non stop 10,000 miles one way.  Four Jets on a suicide mission to drop the bomb of bombs on America!  Scientists after discovering this secret that the Japanese were working on estimated that within 2 to 4 weeks every man woman and child plus every living creature from Northern Canada to Argentina would be dead!  So Harry Truman with the help of god made a harrowing decision, no general or admiral wanted to drop the bomb on Japan, so Harry Truman had to over ride and trump his generals and admirals.  Looking at history he did the right thing then, whether god made him or not fate sure had a hand in his decision.

Flashback to 1942 late in the year the Japanese were sending balloons to America filled with bombs, they were hoping to hear the media announce any and all damage, but President Roosevelt knowing the Japanese had a plan asked the media (They were loyal to America in those years) to not print or announce any of the attacks in the news, in Oregon a ministers wife and a few boy scouts were killed when they happened upon a downed balloon with bombs on board.   In other parts of the country there were Forest fires in Minnesota and a few other states, the military used paratroopers from the 555 paratrooper regiments to combat these fires, and the military knew about the bombs

REVERSE MORTGAGES NOT!       article by:  James Thomas Fridas

The banks and mortgage companies are going to hate me for this but here goes, do not let the mortgage institutions sell you on the idea of getting a reverse mortgage unless you are an only person, if you have children they will never see the house, and may never be able to sell it, as what happens in most cases is that the loan actually multiplies so that by the time you have had the loan for about five years there is no more house left because the interest has doubled, tripled and doubled again so that when you pass away the bank now owns your home and your sons and daughters are out of luck because those scamsters at the bank have concocted another scheme on unsuspecting home owners that the fat cats at the bank are laughing all the way to the BANK!

If you need a loan then get a loan and place it in the bank with instructions to the bank to send a certain amount in your checking account each month, this is better, check with your accountant to see if you qualify for an annuity that is not forfeited at death, in other words when you die the money left in the annuity goes to a family member son or daughter that way you get your cake and eat it to and deliver the rest to your family, as reverse mortgages are a curse on you!

There are other ways of obtaining money for your senior years and reverse mortgages should be NOT on your list of funds to receive as it is a super scam, if the mortgage banks and bankers try to convince you otherwise go, no run to the nearest exit and do not return, find a new lender or talk to an insurance agent at a specialty insurance company that has experience on loans they are few and far between but the Internet is a good starting place, family and friends may also know of someone who is qualified to represent a variable annuity that is not forfeited upon the death of the insured, so go to the phone book if you need to and research the finance and insurance sections to find the right fit and do not be sold on the very first one!  Research, research, research and research!

A TRUE STORY          article by:  James Thomas Fridas

May I bring to your attention a true situation that happened today to none other than me, yes yours truly and it went like this, I read an advertisement in a WWII magazine asking for stories, so I said to my self, SELF!  I have a true story, actually I have a dozen true stories including my book about true warriors in WWII titled "Those Gallant Greeks" and another about a group of warriors titled "Skin Of A Different Color"  and a book about Hispanics in WWII titled "Hispanic American Warriors" all in final edit and I thought that I would love to tell the story that is about my Uncle in "Those Gallant Greeks" and the response was overwhelming to say the least, I am not made or angry, I am actually surprised at the response which is below, now mind you my story is a true story and it is accurate, now to the professional historians, I have my druthers!  By that I mean how much of it is Hollywood style make up?  OK, now you my audience please be the judge and let me know if  I am wrong or if I am right about  my thoughts, i await your comments.

This is the actual email I received from the query below

Hello Mr. Fridas,

Thank you so much for allowing us to consider your story, it sounds like your uncle had quite a distinguished career. Unfortunately at this time we are only accepting proposals by professional historians, in part so that we can feature the experiences of as many servicemen and women as possible.

Best of luck publishing elsewhere,

Aleta

Subject: WWII True Story

I would like to know if you would like a short true story about my Uncle George who was a  Master Sergeant in the
California National Guard.
Master Sgt George Malekos he was in the California National Guard when WWII started, he went from North Africa
to Sicily to Italy Normandy to the battle of the Bulge where he was taken prisoner and escaped the same day saving
several men's lives, he was to receive the Medal Of Honor and the Colonel who was going to see he received it was
killed before he could  get back to US lines after escaping the Massacre at Malmedy, he did receive a commission to
Lieutenant.       We buried him in Colma California in 1996, a real soldiers soldier!

MASSACRE AT MALMEDY                            article by:  James Thomas Fridas
NOVEMBER 5, 2014

For those of you who are receiving these we are adding to our list because they were past issues and we are trying to catch up all our new members, thank you for reading my newsletters.

One of my favorite news casters was the late great Paul Harvey, he would always start a sentence about a subject then inject,  "And now for the rest of the story"!  Well during WWII there were millions of untold stories that may never be told, god knows them all and that is what counts!

During the start of WWII for America the California National Guard was called up the same day that the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor and Master Sergeant George Malekos living on Arguello Street in San Francisco was on a military vehicle the next morning December 8, 1941 for Camp San Luis Obispo in Southern California,  from there it was on to North Africa and the entire route to Berlin.

It was a time when the world went crazy, the Nazi's and the Japanese Empire and the Mad man Mussolini declared war on a civilized world, the Army landed in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, France at the D-Day landing all the way to the battle of the Bulge.

For many the war was an act of history and they do not even know why it was fought, but it was because of mad men who wanted to rule the world.

At the Ardene  in France the Americans were surprised on December 16 1944 when the Nazi's sprung a winter offensive and caught thousands off guard and captured hundreds of men and massacred them on the road to Argonne the Nazi's surrounded a group of Americans and the Lieutenant surrendered them even though the men wanted to continue fighting.

So they marched them up to another group of Americans that were being marched up the hill as the two units came together Master Sergeant George Malekos told the men when he gave the word to break and run, pass it on.

When they got to the top of the hill the Nazi's brought large trucks up to the point were the men were and when they dropped the rear steel doors they made a thud and the guards turned their heads just then Master Sergeant George Malekos yelled NOW!  So the men broke and ran as fast as they could, as they did the Nazi's started shooting them and yelling Americanish come back, come back my ass came the response and they killed around 80 men while around 70 made it back to American lines and the story has been told about the Malmedy Massacre and told perhaps a hundred different ways, this then is how I heard it and there it is for all the world to read.

Commentary:
I submitted this story to a military magazine and they said that they would prefer  professional writers, really, you mean the kind that make up stuff?
At a reunion for the few survivors in 1994 just before Lt. George Malekos died men at the reunion came up to the Lt and hugged him and thanked him for saving their lives and leading them in that harrowing time, may they be blessed for their courage, bravery and eternal sacrifice, AMEN!

Tenhut Or Else!                                      article by:  James Thomas Fridas
NOVEMBER 5, 2014

Before we get into this article I would like to inform my readers that this article is intended to be the first in a series of newsletters for Legionnaires, if you know a veteran who served please have him or her sign up or just forward this to them and they can join my circle at google.  My newsletters are not for the timid or the people who cannot handle the truth! Now I hope you enjoy the following information!

I was in the Air Force just before the Viet Nam war got hot, or just before that moron Johnson sent millions of men to that god forsaken hell hole, and this idiot did volunteer to transfer to the war zone, the Air Force sent me a thank you letter and said we are sorry but we cannot transfer you at this time as you are to valuable where you are!  Can you believe that?  To valuable where I am!  The  fact that Johnson sent us there proved he was incompetent, my reasoning, if he had pursued NASA and increased the space program with all the money we spent on the war we would be on some other planet by now or dam close, see Johnson was an idiot after all, I know hind sight is wonderful isn't it, but Johnson I believe was involved in the Kennedy assassination and now I also believe he is in hell paying for his evil actions, if you disagree with that notion please let me know why you disagree, and if you agree please let me know, write in the comment section and lets see where this takes us, thanks for reading my post.

If you would like to keep up with my articles on Veterans of America then please proceed to this address         http://groups.google.com/group/veterans-of-america    and see all my other articles for those who are concerned about our veterans.

I will in time add additional features to this newsletter such as links to web sites, travel logs, travel sites, history sites and more, for now this will be short on content until I have responses from readers on the kind of input they would like, I will be sending questions and looking for the answers from you my valued reader, so for now Thank You!

Later of course we had another underachiever known as Jimmy the jerk Carter who allowed Skylab to come crashing to earth when he could have saved it by having it moved further into space to keep it working for us, then this same incompetent moron Jimmy the jerk Carter had the temerity to give away the Panama Canal to a small third world dictator that George Bush stomped on in a matter of days and I wonder why Bush never took the canal back.

It seems that the White House is constantly occupied by little men with little minds with few exceptions like the late great Ronald Reagan, I can only presume that the job of President is not a job that comes with ease or comfort when you have so many idiots in the media attacking you on fallacious circumstantial misleading spin or just out right lies that the socialists in the media are full of.

A Special One Of A Kind Teacher!
Back in September of 2005, on the first day of school, Martha Cothren,
a social studies school teacher at Robinson High School in Little
Rock , did something not to be forgotten. On the first day of school,
with the permission of the school superintendent, the principal and the
building supervisor, she removed all of the desks out of her classroom.

When the first period kids entered the room they discovered that there
were no desks.
'Ms. Cothren, where's our desks?'

She replied, 'You can't have a desk until you tell me how you earn the right to
sit at a desk.'
They thought, 'Well, maybe it's our grades.'
'No,' she said.
'Maybe it's our behavior.'
She told them, 'No, it's not even your behavior.'
And so, they came and went, the first period, second
period, third period. Still no desks in the classroom.

By early afternoon television news crews had started
gathering in Ms. Cothren's classroom to report about this crazy teacher
who had taken all the desks out of her room.

The final period of the day came and as the puzzled students found
seats on the floor of the desk less classroom, Martha Cothren said,'Throughout the
day no one has been able to tell me just what he or
she has done to earn the right to sit at the desks that are ordinarily found
in this classroom. Now I am going to tell you.'

At this point, Martha Cothren went over to the door of her classroom and
opened it.

Twenty-seven (27) U.S. Veterans, all in uniforms, walked into that
classroom, each one carrying a school desk. The Vets began
placing the school desks in rows, and then they would walk over and stand
alongside the wall. By the time the last soldier had set the final desk
in place those kids started to understand, perhaps for the first time in
their lives, just how the right to sit at those desks had been earned..

Martha said, 'You didn't earn the right to sit at these desks. These

heroes did it for you. They placed the desks here for you. Now,
it's up to you to sit in them. It is your responsibility to learn, to be
good students, to be good citizens. They paid the price so that you
could have the freedom to get an education. Don't ever forget it.'

By the way, this is a true story. And this teacher was awarded
Teacher of the Year for the state of Arkansas in 2006.

Please consider passing this along so others won't forget either
that the freedoms we have in this great country were earned by U. S.
Veterans. Always remember them and the rights they have won for us.
Blessings abound in the USA !

HOUSING NEEDED NOW by Jim Fridas

LOOKING FOR HOMES article by: James Thomas Fridas

NOVEMBER 5, 2014

Let me start by showing you some outreach programs in HUD, both for renters and for buyers........

Housing Assistance For Veterans

Housing assistance for homeless Veterans and their families is available through several federal programs.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and VA Supportive Housing Program (HUD-VASH) partner to provide permanent, supportive housing and treatment services for homeless Veterans.
HUD allocated nearly 38,000 “Housing Choice” vouchers across the country, which allows Veterans and their families to live in market rate rental housing while VA provides case management services. A housing subsidy is paid to the landlord directly by the local public housing authority on behalf of the participating Veteran. The Veteran then pays the difference between the actual rent charged by the landlord and the amount subsidized by the program. The case management services facilitate the attainment of the Veteran’s recovery goals. The HUD-VASH Program is for the most vulnerable Veterans, and provides special services for women Veterans, those recently returning from combat zones, and Veterans with disabilities. Learn more about the HUD-VASH Program.

Veterans Affordable Housing Programs

Affordable Community Living is a qualified 501(c)(3) charitable organization providing low and moderate income families with quality, affordable housing since 1997 and now offers help to veterans and their families through it’s Veterans Assistance Program. This is NOT a government program.
  • AFFORDABLE HOME PURCHASE PROGRAM - Affordable manufactured housing for veterans and their families.
  • DOWN PAYMENT ASSISTANCE - Qualified veterans will receive down payment assistance grant funds with a minimum down payment to purchase a new or used manufactured home when using ACL and/or Santiago Communities, Inc. financing in any of ACL’s 32 affiliated manufactured home communities in the western United States.
  • MOVE-IN RENT SUBSIDIES - Qualified veterans will be provided move-in rent subsidy grant funds to lower their rent cost during the first 1-3 years after purchasing their home.
  • FINANCING OPTIONS – Flexible financing options give qualified veterans the opportunity to purchase a home and re-establish their good credit at the same time.
  • HANDICAP ASSISTANCE – Grant funds are also available to disabled veterans needing handicap wheelchair ramps, wheel chair lifts, handicap access in bathrooms, kitchens and other modifications and improvements for interior and exterior of homes.
While these are just a few of the programs offered for Veterans there are numerous other programs I will be posting in future additions of mt newsletter so keep a close eye out for these and future additions!
